Job overview

With a new CEO and Executive Leadership Team, the Pontefract Academies Trust is on an exciting journey of improvement.

HEAD OF SCHOOL

LOCATION: PONTEFRACT, WEST YORKSHIRE

SALARY: Up to £85,000

CONTRACT: Permanent | Full Time

START DATE: September 2019 preferred

We are looking for a high-achieving, inspiring, and creative leader to join us as Head of School at The King’s School, Pontefract, an Ofsted Grade ‘2’ school in West Yorkshire.

We want someone who is thoroughly passionate about improving the life-chances of children and has been waiting for this opportunity to step up into school leadership as a Head. We need someone with a strong presence who is ambitious for the pupils, their colleagues and the school; who has vision; and who is interested in achieving the very best outcomes (both in attainment and progress) for our young people.

For the right person this could be the career opportunity of a lifetime. You will be working closely with a new and nationally recognised Executive Leadership Team, and you will report directly to the Executive Director of Secondary Education for the Trust, James Franklin-Smith. James and his whole team are dedicated to removing barriers to success – for our pupils and our staff. There is significant potential for substantial professional development for the successful candidate, in terms of future career trajectory within our Trust.

This post would be ideal for a successful Deputy Head, with ambition and drive, a clear vision of what constitutes excellence and who sees the potential of a Head of School role as the next step in their career. You will use these skills to ensure that our results, in both attainment and achievement, see the consistent and sustained forward momentum that our students deserve.

We offer:

• Full support from a dedicated, inspirational and approachable leadership team.

• A collegiate approach to best practice, with a dynamic yet inclusive style.

• Real career development, advice and a platform towards further career success.

For a full pack including application forms please visit www.headofschool.co.uk or e-mail our advisers ASDTi on gm@asdti.com or telephone ASDTi on 07736 775776 – they are available evenings and weekends as well as during the working day, to help you make the right choice.

Closing date for applications:  Friday 15th February 2019 at midnight

Shortlisting will be during the following week, with interview invites sent after half-term, at the beginning of the week commencing 25th February 2019

Interviews will be during the week beginning 4th March 2019
