Job overview

Are you an Assistant or Deputy Headteacher looking for your first step into Headship?

This is a key appointment for us and we are fully committed to finding the right person for this role. It is a role which offers a real opportunity to work within a highly supportive environment to secure a first class education for the children at the school. This is something we believe every child deserves.

Our Trust works with three underpinning principles across all of our schools: developing our people; nurturing our differences and aspiring to excellence. Our vision is to establish a national reputation for the quality of education we provide.

Chadwell St Mary is one of three primary schools which work very closely and effectively together within the SWECET Trust. The schools share expertise, resources and work collaboratively to provide an exciting and high quality education for each child whilst maintaining their own unique identity. Each has a Head of School who is supported by an Executive Head Teacher and it is this additional capacity, when combined with collaborative working, that has resulted in “Good” OFSTED judgements in each of the primary school within the last few years.

Chadwell St Mary is a happy one-form entry primary, which serves a mixed community. We are keen to appoint to the post of Head of School following the promotion within the Trust of the previous incumbent in order to continue the successes of recent years.

We are looking for a leader who understands fully how to build positive and effective relationships with all stakeholders; one who can continue to build a culture of trust and confidence in his/her ability to lead and manage with integrity and common sense, and one who is able to continue to drive and improve the quality of teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will have huge personal drive and commitment, well-developed emotional intelligence and an understanding of the fact that only as a large, effective team will we achieve our goal of offering an outstanding educational experience for every child.

Our Trust places a strong emphasis on the well-being of all staff and the Head of School is no exception. In addition to a bespoke CPD programme both to ensure effective induction and on-going professional development, there is a significant health and well-being package supported by Vitality which includes full private medical cover for you and your family alongside life insurance and other benefits.

We would truly encourage you to visit our school (and the other primary schools also if you would like to see them too) at a time to suit you so that you can meet us and see the school in action. We are most willing to talk to you informally should you so wish.

Please contact Ross Laird at Academicis at rlaird@academicis.co.uk or 07901 585959 for a confidential conversation or to arrange a school visit.

All applications to be emailed to Ross Laird at rlaird@academicis.co.uk before 12pm on Wednesday 19th May.

Interview Date – Wednesday 26th May
