The Bishop of Winchester Academy is an oversubscribed and thriving Church of England School situated in a beautiful seaside resort with seven miles of award winning golden sands on our doorstep, on the edge of the Jurassic coast with excellent transport links to London and the rest of the UK. We are currently looking to appoint an outstanding teacher who is passionate, dynamic, proactive and innovative. You will have excellent subject knowledge and will have experience of teaching at all key stages preferable with expertise in delivering outstanding outcomes in science (physics desirable but not essential). 

The successful applicant will be able to inspire, motivate and lead our strong science team. You will have a proven record of raising attainment and accelerating progress, whilst demonstrating effective teaching and learning at all times. Our Head of Science will lead on any curriculum changes remaining professional and pro-active, they will chair meetings confidently inspiring and motivating colleagues and students.

This role would suit an aspirational middle leader looking for their next step in leadership and is the perfect role for candidates who want to gain further experience and have aspirations to move onto ALT in The future. The challenge for the successful applicant will be not only to maintain our level of success, but to ensure that high expectations rise within Science

About The Bishop of Winchester Academy

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
