We are looking for an exceptional existing or developing leader to join our academy. The successful candidate will have ambition and will work closely with our SLT to develop and realise this ambition.

We are an aspirational academy operating across two school sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst the Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. This post will be based at the Upper Academy.

The right candidate will be an outstanding science teacher, able to demonstrate impact in a leadership role or the potential to achieve this, and have an enthusiasm that will inspire science students to outstanding outcomes.

In December 2015 both of our Academies were graded as 'Good' by Ofsted and our goal over the next 12 months is to achieve 'Outstanding'. We are confident we can achieve this and are looking for colleagues who share the drive and passion necessary to ensure every student achieves their potential.

We are also dedicated to ensuring our staff fulfil their potential. As a member of our team you will receive excellent bespoke CPD that will support you as an outstanding practitioner. We will also provide opportunities to engage in leadership programmes to support professional development.

If you can enthuse, engage, motivate and challenge students to make exceptional progress then we would welcome your application.

The Basildon Academies is focused upon developing the whole child; our curriculum has been developed to enable our students to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills so that they will become lifelong learners. This includes opportunities for linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technical, human, social, physical and artistic learning so that students make progress in a wide range of subjects.

We set high expectations of all our students and this, in turn, ensures we create a positive climate for learning in which every student can reach their full potential. Our Academy is a calm, orderly and purposeful environment where students enjoy their learning, make good progress and feel safe.

Our Sixth Form is a major part of the academy with the structure modelling itself on developing independent learning skills like those seen in universities which allows students to continue their studies in their specialist subject areas. Students are very much encouraged to become mature adults being engaged in many aspects of the life of the academy which further develops those much needed skills to go on into university or the world of work.

'Leaders are committed to developing pupils’ confidence and belief in themselves. The clear message to pupils is that anything is possible if you persevere.' Ofsted 2019
