We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified, motivated and ambitious leader with the highest personal and academic standards to lead our Science Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an existing middle leader or an exceptional classroom practitioner to shape and develop the future of Science at Cedar Mount Academy.

We are looking for a leader with drive, energy, a genuine love for teaching and learning and a passion for Science. You will have outstanding teaching practice and the vision and determination to lead the Science Department to ensure all our students receive a first class education.
As the Head of Science you will join a team of supportive, hard-working and talented teachers who put students first in their quest to provide the very best learning experiences for all. You will be expected to lead on the growth of Science, being responsible for providing support, guidance and motivation to teaching staff and Learning Support Assistants to share ideas and strategies that impact on classroom learning to drive progress for all.
As an Academy, we are focused on encouraging every student to strive to achieve the very best they can be whilst also rising to the challenge of building on success.
Cedar Mount Academy was founded in September 2012 as part of the Bright Futures Educational Trust, which is a multi-academy, educationally-led organisation with the lead sponsor being Altrincham Grammar School for Girls (AGGS). As well as being linked with AGGS other members of the Trust include; Melland High School, Connell College, Rushbrook and Stanley Grove Primary Academies, Southshore Academy and Marton Primary Academy. Cedar Mount Academy is located in East Manchester within Gorton Education Village and is an innovative 11-16 school, committed to academic excellence. Cedar Mount Academy offers an exciting career path and a strong support network throughout the Trust.
The Bright Futures Educational Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. “At the heart of his very clear vision for the school is effective transition from key stage 2 to 3. Leaders are working in partnership with their colleagues in the trust primary schools on a range of areas such as curriculum planning and behaviour management strategies. This collaborative approach is reflected in the new weekly bulletin which is distributed to parents of all pupils in the schools. This bulletin also reflects the importance that the executive principal puts on communicating effectively with parents. As well as being informative, it has a real focus on celebrating the achievements of pupils.”
