 A rare and exciting opportunity to join a community characterised by its high achievement, family atmosphere and strong Christian ethos. Development of the whole person is central to our philosophy. We seek a full time and inspirational Head of Science for this important and successful department. The appointed person would oversee all Sciences and determine the overall faculty vision as well as being in charge of Physics or another Science subject. It may be decided to appoint a Head of Physics only: much will depend on how this process transpires at interview.

Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities is vital: our community thrives on commitment and participation.

St Mary’s College (Crosby) is an independent, co-educational school for children aged 0-18, located in Sefton, Liverpool. The school has a Christian ethos, specifically Roman Catholic, but welcomes pupils of all faiths. The total pupil roll is around 830.  

St Mary’s College was founded in 1919 as a Catholic school committed to supporting the educational, spiritual and charitable principles of Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Congregation of Christian Brothers.  The college is governed by a lay board of trustees to whom authority was transferred from the Christian Brothers in 2006.  The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is located in a separate Victorian house.
