We seek to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and influential Head of Science (a specialism in Chemistry or Physics would be advantageous), who will inspire and lead a relatively new department, to provide excellent outcomes for students at Key stage 3 and 4. GCSE Science Triple outcomes in 2017 were 100% A* - C in Biology, 97% A* - C in Chemistry, 92% A* - C in Physics, 38% A* - C in Core Science and 44% A* - C in Additional Science.
Experience of highly effective curriculum development, teaching and learning will be essential. We are looking for somebody who can provide outstanding leadership to ensure continued improvement in learning and progress for all areas of Science. This role would suit someone who is looking to make a step into middle leadership, or to build upon a successful career so far at this level. This is an exciting opportunity to mould and develop a relatively new department. You will be someone who is committed to the development of a stimulating, differentiated and contextualised curriculum, enabling all students to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will join a school that is committed to engage, inspire and motivate students in their learning to ensure they have the very best educational journey possible.
We are a partially selective, 11-16 secondary girls’ school, in south Reading. Our aim is a very clear one which is to provide the best life-chances possible for every student. To that end, we challenge our students to the very edge of their academic capabilities whilst providing wrap-around support towards those goals.
