The Post – Head of Secondary

There are few international British Schools in the world which offer this type of opportunity for experience and professional progression. We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Secondary, who will lead this large secondary school (11 - 18 years) of 1100 students within a whole school context of 3800 (3-18 years). The successful candidate will play a major role as a member of the Executive Leadership Team supporting the CEO in leading the whole school strategically, operationally and financially.

The Head of Secondary provides day-to-day leadership and management of the Secondary school to ensure effective delivery of high quality education. You will have responsibility of all educational operations of the secondary school including leadership of the teaching and learning, management of educational support team, ensuring academic performance, pastoral care, as well as involvement in all staff recruitment, induction and professional development.
This position would offer the successful applicant an opportunity to lead a successful significant secondary section within a larger whole school context and provide the professional learning  to understand whole school leadership FS - 13 in an international context.

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

• Be an effective and dynamic leader (ideally a head/principal of their own school or an exceptional Deputy) with a proven track record in school improvement; moreover, possessing real gravitas and presence within a school community.
• Be rigorous in promoting excellence and developing commitment to high standards of care and opportunities for all.
• Be able to demonstrate successful experience of leading and managing staff, promoting and developing approaches to learning.
• Be able to demonstrate a comprehensive and confident knowledge of delivery at KS4 and post-16 (IB or A Level experience is essential).
• Be able to demonstrate genuine passion towards the wider co-curricular life of a school.
• Preferably extensive experience working in a UK curriculum school, IB DP experience is desirable.
• Have at least 2 years’ experience as a leader in a UK curriculum school

The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills both verbal & written and exceptional organisational skills. Refined interpersonal skills and experience of leading a large and high performing team are also vital. Be able to demonstrate genuine passion towards the wider co-curricular life of a school.
