Barnet with Cambridge Education

The London Borough of Barnet has entered into an innovative, long term strategic relationship with Cambridge Education to deliver the Council’s education services to schools, children and young people.

This role represents a unique opportunity to join a high performing education service in a key leadership role, delivering high quality, flexible and responsive services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

We need an experienced manager to oversee Special Educational Needs assessments, the preparation of Education, Health and Care Plans and the placement of pupils with EHCPs, while developing and implementing systems and processes to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of SEN casework through the statutory SEN process. The post-holder will maintain and develop good models of stakeholder engagement in decision-making and support effective co-planning and collaborative working between SEND and Inclusion professional staff and colleagues across social care and health.

Jointly employed by the London Borough of Barnet and Cambridge Education, you will oversee statutory processes and be an inspiring leader for our teams of dedicated SEN caseworkers and support staff.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Sabrina Burrell on 020 8359 7692 to arrange a telephone discussion with Helen Phelan, the Assistant Director of SEND and Inclusion.

Closing date for applications: Monday 19th November 2018 at 5.00 pm
