As a 7-18 State Boarding School we are seeking a Head of House to be directly responsible for the routine operation of Gatton Hall, our Sixth Form Co-Educational Boarding House. You will be responsible for the boarders’ welfare and contentment, and for good order and discipline in the house. A reduced teaching timetable is offered if the candidate is also going to teach at the school.
Gatton Hall itself is a mansion in the Palladium Style offering magnificent views of the 250 acres of the grounds of the School. The boarding accommodation is on the top two floors of this mansion. It has recently been refurbished and offers first class accommodation to the boarders. As a co-educational house, which is sixth form only, it is a unique boarding house in the school and serves to prepare the pupils extremely well for their next stage.
The successful candidate will:
• Be a qualified teacher, but applications will be considered from candidates with relevant experience or training who are not teachers
• Take an interest in the welfare and progress of all of the students in the house
• Support the house as appropriate in house activities and house competitions
• Generous with their time and responsive to the needs of the students
