Relocation assistance available as appropriate
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience at a senior level in one of the world’s leading schools, and to play a key part in shaping the direction of the Sixth Form at an exciting stage in the College’s overall strategic development.
The Head of Sixth Form is equivalent to an Assistant Head role, and carries significant responsibility, overseeing the quality of provision in all areas of the Sixth Form, providing line management to all tutors, and the International Baccalaureate Co-ordinator as well as liaising closely with the higher education team and line managing the Head of the Professional Guidance Centre. The successful candidate will have a leading role in promoting the Sixth Form experience and programmes both internally and externally to pupils and parents.
We are looking for a charismatic, outward-facing and energetic leader with strong management experience to inspire and lead the Sixth Form of over 300 girls, working alongside the team of Sixth Form Houseparents in ensuring each pupil flourishes during her Sixth Form years, and makes a successful transition to life beyond College.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and will teach a reduced timetable (usually up to 9 x 55 minute periods per week) to include some Sixth Form teaching in their specialist subject.
As one of the world’s leading schools, and with a strong pioneering heritage, our aim is to embody excellence, independence and empowerment in the education of young women. You will join a friendly and supportive community of committed professionals who believe that girls are at the heart of all we do. We are ambitious for their futures, collectively and individually, and have been so for over 165 years.
