We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and talented individual with the vision and ability to lead, grow and develop the Post 16 offer at Clevedon School. This includes working on all elements of the curriculum, pastoral and enrichment offer integrating with systems and processes used throughout the school.
As Head of Sixth Form you will have overall responsibility for pastoral and academic matters relating to pupils in Years 12 and 13 (the Sixth Form), including the line management of the Assistant Head of Sixth Form and tutors. You will naturally be expected to embody the School’s ethos and values of “Be Kind – Be Brilliant” by being a role model for staff and pupils throughout the school.
This is an exciting time to lead the Sixth Form as student numbers in the year groups below are at capacity for the first time. As such the growth of the Sixth Form is a key target as we seek to increase ambition, attainment and therefore accessibility to our Sixth Form offer.
Applicants should be a good honour graduate, hold QTS and have experience of leading and managing in a successful school environment. You be willing to be fully involved in all aspects of the School’s busy life. A track record of outstanding teaching is essential, but no specific specialist subject is sought. A willingness to contribute to the School’s extensive co-curricular programme is also required.
The school has 1300 students on role and is situated in a coastal location within commuting distance of Bristol and surrounding areas. We offer a comprehensive professional development programme including supporting national accredited qualifications.
