Head of Sport

Start Date: September 2025, however, a January 2026 start may be for the right candidate

Salary: This is a Middle Leadership role graded at ML1 on the Truro School salary scales. Starting salary is dependent upon skills and experience.

We are seeking an outstanding Head of Sport to lead the development of Physical Education, games and activities throughout the School. The successful candidate will nurture a passion for sport in all children and will develop the school’s sporting reputation. Truro School Prep is a co-educational preparatory school for children aged 3 to 11. The staff team is very committed, talented and work closely together.

Sport and activities are an integral part of Truro School Prep life. We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Physical Education/Sports specialist to develop and lead all aspects of sport within the 3 to 11 age range.  

Facilities 

Truro School Prep is well-equipped with a purpose-built sports hall featuring cricket nets, badminton courts, a tennis court and basketball courts. The School also benefits from a purpose-built swimming pool, outdoor netball courts/tennis court, sports pitches and spacious grounds.

Games programme

Our inclusive sports programme encourages all pupils to represent the School at an appropriate level. Delivered co-educationally, it covers rugby, netball, football, hockey, cricket, athletics, cross-country, and year-round swimming with specialist teachers.

Pupils also develop their athletics skills through the wider activities programme. The School owns sailing dinghies and kayaks at a nearby reservoir and takes advantage of local opportunities, such as surf days for Years 5 and 6.
