Job overview

We are looking for a suitably qualified and skilled candidate to work in a management role within a strong Modern Foreign Languages Department in this highly successful Sixth Form College. You will manage the Spanish curriculum subject area and teach A level and GCSE Spanish with a working arrangement on a part time basis of 0.7 fte. Alternatively, for a full-time role you will also be required to teach another cross college or MFL subject (ideally to at least first year A level standard). 

We are located in the town centre of Colchester close to the beautiful North Essex coast line and rural Suffolk yet only 50 minutes from London by train.

You will:
• Have a relevant honours degree
• Hold a PGCE or teaching qualification
• Demonstrate your ability to manage and desire to teach at A level
• Be able to work alongside and enhance the teaching of an experienced department
• Show willingness to contribute to Additional Studies or Extra Curricular activities

About Sixth Form College Colchester

The Sixth Form College Colchester is a non-denominational, mixed sixth-form college for around 3,200 students aged 16 and older. It was founded in 1987 and is located on the site of a former school. The old building at the college dates back to 1912. 

In 2011, the Sixth Form College Colchester opened a new language centre; a series of new buildings, including a performing arts centre, have been added in recent years. Among its alumni are television presenter Dermot O’Leary and Blur frontman Damon Albarn.
