Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday 

Set in Roehampton and close to Richmond Park, Priory Lodge School is seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of Teaching & Learning, who is passionate about securing the best possible outcomes for our students aged 7-19 with autism, Asperger’s and associated conditions.

The ideal candidate is a natural leader who intuitively understands young people with autism and how to support them in their learning, as well as to help them regulate their behaviour. You will have experience in tracking and analysing data and be confident in Safeguarding practices. A working knowledge of the Positive Behaviour Support framework is desirable. 

Priory Lodge was graded GOOD by Ofsted in May 2019.Priory Lodge School is expanding its senior management team to include a Head of Teaching & Learning, so we can ensure the best possible outcomes for our students aged 7-19 with autism, Asperger’s and associated conditions. .

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in teaching & learning, driving forward outcomes across the staff team;
  • Provide outstanding learning opportunities for all pupils;
  • Regular reporting to the schools SLT with regards specific area of responsibility;
  • Support the SLT in implementing the schools polices and ethos;
  • Complete reports for SLT based on student outcomes;
  • Manage teaching staff and support their development;
  • Quality assure lesson planning, mid and long term planning for teachers;
  • Undertake quality lesson observations in line with the schools policy;
  • Liaise and support parents.

About Roehampton Gate School

Roehampton Gate School is a purpose-built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders, in particular Asperger's Syndrome and associated learning difficulties. It is situated next to the Hospital Roehampton. The school opened in April 2010.

The spacious and modern building has been specifically designed to accommodate up to 40 young people with autistic spectrum disorders and Asperger's Syndrome.

The classrooms are set up for specialist subjects including information technology, art, food technology, science and music, together with exclusive sensory and therapy rooms/suites or studios.

Roehampton Gate School is also uniquely placed to benefit from the extensive therapy and specialist mental health services provided at the Hospital Roehampton. Staff and students will also work closely with the child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and experienced educational psychologists
