We are seeking a Head of Year, to lead teaching, learning and pastoral care for a year group of students from either April or September 2021. The successful candidate will become a member of our hard working, innovative Raising Standards Team, dedicated to removing barriers to learning and improving life chances for all students. The successful candidate will be proactive, well organised and able to lead both staff and students.
They will be an excellent teacher in their own right, who consistently leads by example, and is adept at supporting and developing teachers and students. Alongside duties such as tracking student progress and leading assemblies, the successful candidate will lead a team of tutors. In return for your passion, commitment and drive, we offer a highly supportive working environment, students who are intellectually curious and keen to learn, and outstanding continued professional development opportunities, including access to the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) suite of training.
Easthampstead Park is a vibrant school which prides itself on holding traditional values. Our school culture marries high academic expectations with excellent pastoral care and support. Teaching and learning drive everything we do. We are committed to freeing teachers from unnecessary bureaucracy so they can focus on what really matters: marking, planning and teaching as effectively as possible. An action-research based approach to teaching and learning has been central to our improvement journey in recent years, and we wholeheartedly believe in investing in staff’s continued professional development in the same way that we expect our teachers to passionately invest in our students.
This is a very exciting time to join us. In recent years, we have made excellent progress, and at our last OFSTED inspection (June 2016), we were rated as ‘good’ in all areas.
“Since her appointment, the Headteacher has focused on making sure that all pupils feel safe, happy and confident so that they learn well. This did not happen overnight but it is now apparent in pupils’ much-improved behaviour and their positive response to the good teaching they receive.” (OFSTED, 2016)
We aspire to be rated ‘outstanding’, driven by a core belief that all of our students deserve nothing but the best possible teaching and support in order to be happy, healthy and successful. We aim to deliver the best quality teaching and learning in a school where staff and students have respect for, and pride in themselves, their school and their community.
If you feel you have the necessary skills, mind-set and determination to join us on our journey towards ‘outstanding,’ we would very much like to hear from you. Visits to the school prior to application are warmly welcomed.
