The Role:

The Head of Year position will see you are working closely with Year 7 students, their parents and class teachers to monitor and pick up any issues surrounding attendance, behaviour and attainment levels. We are looking for candidates who understand how to work effectively with students, their parents and their teachers to build a strong partnership in which the young people can thrive and succeed at school.  It is anticipated that the successful candidate will lead this cohort of students as they move through their secondary school years.

A Head of Year position in our school is a Senior Middle Leader role that requires a strong classroom practitioner who is able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of how to identify and overcome barriers to learning, build a positive learning ethos in the year group and manage their time effectively in this busy role.  We have a strong team of staff working to support the welfare and safety of our students and the Head of Year will work within this team. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in the Inner City,  be successful in their subject specialism and have a good understanding of how to monitor attendance, behaviour and attainment data.
