Biddick Academy is a thriving, oversubscribed secondary school conveniently located 10 minutes’ drive from Newcastle and Durham. The academy enjoys an excellent reputation within the local community and has an inclusive and supportive ethos. The pastoral and student support team are committed and dedicated to ensuring a positive environment for learning. 

Our resources are extensive and include the Unity Centre (a specialist A.S.D. provision), a school counsellor, STEPs (a permanent in-school base for vulnerable students), as well as The Bridge, which provides a bespoke KS4 curriculum for a small number of students. 

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Year to join our pastoral team.  In addition, the successful candidate will have:

• An understanding of the monitoring and tracking procedures within school and implementing effective interventions;

• A knowledge and understanding of strategies for ensuring positive behaviour and engagement in learning;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• Excellent organisational and time management skills;

• The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with various stakeholders.
