School Information

Homebush Boys High School is a comprehensive boys high school (enrolment 1065 students) with a proud tradition of strong academic achievement and excellence in the fields of sport, the creative arts and many extracurricular activities. We are highly multicultural in nature with over 90% of students with a language background other than English. We have a focus on maximising student learning outcomes with a continuing commitment to literacy and numeracy. Our school staff is experienced and committed to engaging boys in meaningful learning experiences. We advocate safety, learning and respect in alignment with the values of the Positive Behaviour for Learning program. The school has a strong reputation in the community and continues to build educational networks to further the opportunities for students. Specific Selection Criteria 
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 

A visible leader with high level organisational and interpersonal skills, providing excellent organisation and communication to build and maintain productive relationships within a large and dynamic school community.

Demonstrated experience in understanding, implementing and overseeing the use of online administration systems such as Sentral, Edval and SAP, to manage school staffing, reporting, and organisation.

Demonstrated ability to gather and analyse data to inform innovative whole school programs to meet school targets and support improved student learning, engagement and wellbeing. 

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective member of the school executive team to lead, manage and implement programs and initiatives that improve student engagement and outcomes and lead initiatives that address whole school strategic directions.

  
General Selection Criteria 
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
