An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Educationalist to join the Education Department of East Renfrewshire Council in driving forward our vision of “Everyone Attaining, Everyone Achieving Through Excellent Experiences”.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading a dynamic team in innovative teaching and learning as well as the ability to inspire a school community to establish its own vision for future success and achievement.

Qualifications

The “Standard for Headship” is now an essential requirement for all Head Teacher appointments. We may however offer this post to suitable candidates that meet all other essential criteria on an acting/temporary basis for a maximum period of 20 months, on the condition that the successful candidate commits to gaining this qualification within this timescale. Thereafter a permanent contract will be offered when the course is successfully completed.

If it becomes clear that this essential qualification will not be achieved within 20 months then the acting/temporary contract will end with appropriate notice. If the candidate is employed by East Renfrewshire Council prior to the acting/temporary arrangement, they will revert to their substantive grade within the council. If the candidate is not employed by East Renfrewshire Council and they do not complete the qualification within 20 months, the acting/temporary contract will be terminated.
