Job overview

Oak Lodge is a special school in Wandsworth for 84 students aged 10 to 19 who are deaf and for hearing pupils with speech, language, and communication needs.  The school has a highly successful residential unit for up to 15 pupils and also runs Deaf First, a traded service providing communication support for students in colleges and classes for adults with hearing impairment.

Oak Lodge School aim to provide students with the best education and preparation for a happy and successful life in the adult world.  With a highly motivated SLT in place, the Governors seek to appoint an outstanding leader who will have the passion and energy to raise the level of achievement and outcomes for all students.  You will be robust in meeting the challenges of a changing educational landscape, financial constraints, and increasingly complex needs as well as building strong relationships with all stakeholders.  

The governing body welcomes applications from experienced or aspiring Headteachers and is open to expressions of interest from a diverse range of professional backgrounds in education. Experience of special education is an advantage, but not essential. Relocation assistance and/or accommodation may be available.
