Valuing the individual and celebrating achievement

Due to the forthcoming retirement of our current Headteacher, the children, staff and governors of Crawley Green Infant School are seeking a highly skilled and inspiring leader who will take the school through its next stage of development. We are proud of our school which has a proven record of providing the children of our local community with an excellent start to education. Our children thrive on good quality teaching in the classroom and on a varied range of wider learning experiences such as local trips, theme days and visiting speakers. Through our values based education approach our children learn to accept, respect and value each other’s customs and cultures.

We are a 3-form entry Infant School where classroom staff are dedicated to providing the children with an excellent education and to promoting their welfare. Staff turnover is low and the members of the team are supportive of each other. Our family workers provide support for parents and many exciting opportunities for them to engage in activities at school with their children in our well-resourced Family Room.

We have a long and well-established tradition as an Eco-School providing the children with strong environmental education – we have just been awarded our 5th Green Flag. Nine children each year are voted onto the Eco Council and all children are involved in collecting the eggs from our chickens, growing vegetables for our lunches and regular Eco themed days. The Eco-School ethos is embedded in the curriculum.

We promote an active lifestyle for our pupils and our children take part in as many local sports events as possible i.e. Athletics Festival, Invasion Games, Gym Competition etc.

We have been judged to be Outstanding for a number of years, but we are seeking a capable leader to steer the school through the challenges that it faces ahead.

We encourage applicants to visit our school to meet our committed staff and diverse and enthusiastic children.

Values and vision

Crawley Green has a very clear vision and purpose which is expressed in its statement Valuing the Individual and Celebrating Achievement.” The school’s ethos is evidenced in a pro-active education which inspires adults and children to adopt and live positive human values.

A collaborative approach to achieving excellence is consistently applied throughout Crawley Green. Supportive leadership and supportive teams are key strengths of the school where teams regularly meet to share and plan. Each half term pupils will also explore a different value, such as perseverance and co-operation.

Ofsted

“The school’s record of outstanding achievement results from the excellent ways it identifies opportunities for pupils’ learning; right from the Reception year, teachers plan and build activities and experiences around these. There is an impressive approach to the ways children are encouraged to look, listen and share their experiences.”
