The governors, staff and children of New Islington Free School are seeking to appoint a new,highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational Head Teacher to lead the future development of our school which was set up as a collaboration between The Manchester Grammar School and its partners. 

Our vision is to deliver a first class International education to children from diverse backgrounds in an inclusive and aspirational setting.  We currently have 250 pupils from Reception to Year 6 and have recently expanded to two-form entry, expecting to reach full capacity by 2023.  We offer wrap-around care and support for children and their families is a strength of the school, with staff working closely as a team to ensure all children strive to achieve the best they can.  

As a school, staff work hard to provide a curriculum matched to the needs, interests and abilities of the children, in an atmosphere of trust, friendship and mutual respect and in an environment that is attractive, stimulating and supportive of learning. Staff are proud of the range of experiences that we offer at the school in the arts, sport and modern languages, and the community links which enrich the curriculum offer.  

New Islington is a safe and creative environment located in the city centre of Manchester in an area that is  undergoing substantial growth and regeneration.  Excellent transport links, close to the bustling Northern Quarter, and a variety of community and  leisure facilities, including the world famous Halle Orchestra, are on our doorstep.
