The school will also soon be applying for candidacy status for the Diploma programme in line with our goal towards authorisation as an IB World Continuum School.

Though not a prerequisite, it is an added advantage if the successful candidate is familiar with the IB programmes including its candidacy and authorisation process. The Head Teacher will nonetheless be supported by Fairview’s experienced IB Programme Coordinators both globally and locally based at the School during the School’s candidacy and authorisation journey with the IBO.

The Head should be a charismatic and dynamic leader with the gravitas and authenticity to engage multiple stakeholders at home and abroad to increase the local and international profile of the Bridge of Allan school and group of schools.  This includes the proficiency to communicate effectively and collaboratively with a variety of Fairview’s current and future stakeholders and partners including government and local authorities.  The ability to identify and grow strategic relationships will be critical, requiring diplomacy, innovation and energy to respond to an ever-changing environment.

The successful candidate will join the global group of Head Teachers, that collaborate with various global senior leadership teams in the developing and delivery of a coherent strategy for the group of schools and its university college, and contribute to the Group’s further plans to expand the Fairview family within UK and globally.

About Fairview International School, Bridge of Allan

Fairview International School, Bridge of Allan, is a certified International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum school offering a holistic learning experience through the world-renowned IB learning framework. It is the first school in Scotland to offer an uninterrupted continuum through IB education for students aged 5-18 through the delivery of three IB core programmes; Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP).

Offering more than the standard curricula, the IB programmes focus on critical thinking and academic integrity, stressing the significance of questioning, comprehending, and responsibly utilising information in the digital age.

The Stirling school is one of six global sister schools located across Southeast Asia, known to be among the world's best-performing private schools delivering the IB DP. Its global connections and diverse student body, parent community and faculty provide exceptional universal learning opportunities to families based in Central Scotland.

Fairview International School has a rich heritage of providing inspirational learning to students for over forty years. We are six schools, over 300 teachers and a body of 3000 students. That’s the Fairview family; with further plans to continue to expand the Fairview family within UK and globally.

Academically, Fairview has consistently achieved for the last 5 years an average IB Diploma Programme score of 36. Furthermore, by affiliation, Fairview is also an authorised IB teacher-training centre; our University College Fairview (UCF) runs the Bachelor of Education, the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) for those seeking a new career in teaching and the Masters in Education for new and existing teachers. The PGDE is recognised by both UK National Academic Recognition Information Centre (UK NARIC) and the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). It is also one of the few institutions globally, not only certified to train IB teachers, but is directly attached to IB World schools offering the advantage of teachers gaining academic qualifications whilst teaching without any gaps in their career.

Offering guidance and stewardship to the strategic direction of Fairview Global is its Council of Governors, which includes 3 former Vice-Chancellors and the former Director General Emeritus of the IB Organisation.

Fairview Bridge of Allan is situated in central Scotland in the old spa town of Bridge of Allan. Strategically placed in a beautiful woodland setting, it commands wonderful views towards the Scottish Highlands.

The school benefits from exceptional transport links and is widely accessible across the central belt with regular direct train services running to Bridge of Allan from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

While well connected, Fairview also possesses desirable rural qualities, namely the extensive grounds in which it stands including acres of woodland. As a certified Forest School, this outdoor learning space is the perfect environment for students to learn while gaining a sense of responsibility and respect for nature.

Neighbouring Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence, Fairview’s location also benefits from access to Stirling University’s exceptional indoor and outdoor sporting facilities, including its pool which a number of Fairview students currently use to train alongside Olympic swimmers.

With a direct connection to our family of sister school’s globally we are able to share best practices and learning journeys between the schools, staff and senior leaders instantly connecting us with our global faculty; something no other school in Central Scotland can offer.

Our absolute focus is on developing motivated, well-rounded students  with a real passion for learning and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. We adopt a holistic and transformative approach to education, which means our students are truly invested and take responsibility for their own learning to become independent learners.

The school is committed to helping every student reach their personal and academic goals, preparing them for further education and life so it was of no surprise that its 2023 MYP student results collectively exceeded the global average score by 4 points, earning the school a 100% success rate.

Success is not only measured on academic achievement but on the individuals they become. Fairview students are inquisitive, resilient, confident young people who leave us with the skills to succeed in life whatever that might hold.

We prepare students to be fully rounded leaders and innovators in today's global society. As a result, they are empowered not only to succeed academically, but to develop a true sense of themselves in preparation for whatever their future holds.

We invite you to join us to be part of our exciting journey and look forward to welcoming you into our family.
