We are looking for an ambitious and inspirational leader to become our new Head teacher at Somerleyton Primary school, to continue leading our school forward through the next stages of our journey to Outstanding. We will work together to continue providing our local children with a unique and highly personalised learning experience which forms the foundation of our curriculum. At Somerleyton Primary, you will lead a team of outstanding, highly motivated teachers, who combine creativity with core learning. 

At Somerleyton we have been recognised for our excellence in music, as demonstrated in our participation in the Festival of Music performances at Snape Maltings for the past five years. The children and staff celebrate an ethos of inclusivity, where each young person’s ambition and talents are recognised, promoting confidence and the autonomy to thrive. We are proud to have developed our positive learning culture is which is underpinned by clear shared values, where resilience and perseverance are celebrated.

We are a member of the ‘Hartismere Family of Schools’ which will give you the opportunity to grow and develop professionally with an outstanding academy trust; providing you support at ‘arms-length’. We have several strategic developments planned including the expansion of the physical site to create a new classroom and a multi-purpose hall. It is a picturesque village situated on the banks of the River Waveney, 30 minutes from Norwich and less than 2 hours from London by train. Norfolk and Suffolk have affordable housing, and varied leisure activities, as well as a large number of top quality restaurants. Somerleyton is close to the picturesque Norfolk Broads and waterways where you can spend your free time sailing along some of the most beautiful rivers in the UK.
