The pupils, staff and governors of Uplands Primary School and Nursery are looking for an exceptional, bold and inspirational Headteacher to join our unique primary and nursery school, as well as oversee our Forest Learning Alliance education arm.

We are an outstanding one form entry school with a nursery on site in Sandhurst, Berkshire. Our school is a top performer locally and nationally, and we’re proud to offer a curriculum which is relevant, creative and inclusive, encouraging all children to be ‘Inspired to Achieve’. Behaviour is exceptional and expectations are extremely high, which creates a purposeful and rewarding environment.

The Forest Learning Alliance (FLA) is our educational training and support provider, offering evidence-based CPD for teachers and other school leaders.  We work closely with a broad alliance of schools covering all phases and settings, as well as other educational professionals across the whole of the South of England.

We are looking for a Headteacher who will:

  • Help to shape our future vision, ethos and behaviours.
  • Provide strong and effective leadership to the whole school community, sustaining the school’s core behaviours of everyone being respectful, kind, resilient, brave and motivated.
  • Secure excellent teaching to achieve high standards of learning and attainment across the nursery and primary phase.
  • Promote and support mental health and wellbeing within the school community.
  • Be courageous, resourceful and resilient with the ability to adapt to an ever-changing educational landscape.
  • Be committed to our FLA education arm.

In return, we can offer you:

  • An opportunity to lead a school which is well resourced and financially stable, has modern and well maintained facilities, and is unique in terms of challenge and opportunity with the prospect of working in a positive and welcoming community.
  • Dedicated staff who are hardworking, enthusiastic and who want the best for the pupils.
  • Pupils who enjoy learning and want to come to school every day.
  • A committed, supportive and experienced Governing Body.
  • A salary package commensurate with the size of the school and recognising the additional complexity of managing the FLA.
  • A CPD package tailored to suit your stage of career development.
