Job overview

“the leadership team have quickly brought about the required momentum to improve the school’s performance.” Ofsted (December 2017)

We are looking for an outstanding individual to lead us into the next phase of our exciting journey by bringing stability and a commitment to drive through the improvements that we have already started to deliver.

Abbey Meadows is a large urban Primary school on the outskirts of Cambridge. We serve a very mixed community with pockets of deprivation but also of wealth. Since 2015, when a long serving Head retired, we have had a period of instability. But the School has now turned the corner.

You will be passionate about the progress and success of every child and be an inspirational leader for all stakeholders of the school. We will consider innovative approaches to Headship, including job share and Co-Headship.

If you feel you have the qualities to ensure the continued success of the school, then please apply for this post.

Closing date: 1st March 2018

Interviews: 14th and 15th March 2018

School visits are very strongly recommended. To arrange a school visit please email office@abbeymeadows.cambs.sch.uk

Applications should be sent to: Chair of Governors, Abbey Meadows Primary School, Galfrid Road, Cambridge, CB5 8ND marked Strictly Private & Confidential or emailed to office@abbeymeadows.cambs.sch.uk

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
