Values and vision

Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is a school that ensures students feel known, valued and appreciated. Its motto is “esgyn ar adain dysg”, Welsh for “climb onto the wing of learning”. It is a school of high expectations in terms of academic achievement, as well as behaviour. Assisted by a diverse and relevant curriculum, teachers strive to create a school of students who are independent and intuitive learners, well prepared for further education and the world of work.

The school is a bilingual school in Category 2B, which means a minimum of 80% of subjects are taught through the medium of English and Welsh, working in line with Welsh government and local authority policies to keep the Welsh language as part of the 21st-century schools programme.

Estyn

Ysgol Bro Dinefwr had its first Estyn inspection in February 2017. The results are not yet available.
