Job overview

Our School

Brooklands is an outstanding single entry Primary School. We are looking for a new Headteacher with the mind-set for growth, development and new opportunities. We know our children and our families well and we focus on these relationships to offer the best provision. Our personable approach means that we champion each child, staff member and parents as individuals and this is part of our identity.

Brooklands Primary school is part of the highly successful Maritime Academy Trust, an innovative partnership of seven schools working across Greenwich and Medway. The Trust was formed out of an original partnership of three schools which all experienced dramatic transformation as a result of our creative and entrepreneurial approach to curriculum delivery. This is a rare opportunity to take on a significant leadership role within Maritime Academy Trust, a highly effective collaboration of schools. You will benefit from working alongside like-minded headteachers with a shared ambition to enrich the lives of children and their families.

The Trust and Governing Body are looking for:

  • An inspirational leader with a strong track record of improving outcomes for children.

  • A commitment to delivering excellent standards of teaching and learning through a broad, balanced and creative curriculum.

  • An individual with high expectations of all stakeholders.

  • A personality that is enthusiastic, fun, reflective and open minded.

  • Someone committed to the in-depth partnership and collaboration practices of Maritime, working transparently and supportively with other schools in the Trust.

What we offer:

  • A welcoming, friendly environment.

  • Dedicated, hard-working and professional staff committed to enabling all children to reach their full potential.

  • Happy and enthusiastic children who care for the school and each other.

  • Support and collaboration from being part of a Multi Academy Trust.

  • An excellent differentiated professional development programme.

Welcome to our School's profile. Brooklands School forms part of the Maritime Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust that is committed to making sure that education is meaningful.

Our Trust is made up of 11 primary schools located in Greenwich, Bexley and Kent. Though our schools may be different with their own in-school culture and community spirit, they all work harmoniously and collaboratively together within an entrepreneurial curriculum that ensures each and every child is being equipped with leadership and life skills. At Maritime, we do this by empowering schools to drive more meaningful and enjoyable outcomes for children by having great people working for us, who commit to working hard to make an impact whatever the school and whatever the role.

At Brooklands we believe that it is our responsibility to create a place of learning which is populated with curious, resilient and independent learners for life.

We expect all of our learners to:

  • Be curious
  • Concentrate
  • Co-operate
  • Enjoy learning
  • Find things out
  • Have a go/take risks
  • Keep improving
  • Persevere and not give up
  • Use their imagination
  • Respect and care for others

We believe these are the ‘keys to success’ and, as such, we ensure that our curriculum provides many opportunities to hone these lifelong skills. We believe that if these skills are developed in all our learners they will be well-equipped to thrive in our ever-changing and challenging world, enabling choice and opening up options for their futures.

So, if you are looking for a place to apply your knowledge and develop your skill set in a friendly and energised environment, then Maritime may be the place for you. All we ask for is a commitment to continue to learn and the flexibility to try new things as we strive to ensure that every single child receives a phenomenal education.
