Responsible to: The Governing Body / Head of Early Years, Childcare & SAFE 0-18

Following the retirement of the current Headteacher, we are looking to appoint a leader with the ability and commitment to maintain and enhance the success of this well established nursery school and children’s centre with an architect-designed building and gardens for under 5s. The Centre is highly regarded in the community as innovative and effective as well as friendly and engaging.

To build on the excellent progress already made, we are looking for a good strategic thinker with proven leadership and management experience and extensive knowledge of early education and care. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to build and nurture good relationships and genuine engagement with a diverse community in order to continue to raise aspirations and achieve the best outcomes for the young children and families in your care.

You will be supported by a Deputy Head of Centre and an experienced and skilled staff team offering a wide range of services including early education, childcare and a targeted early help offer. The governing body is active and forward thinking. South Acton Children’s Centre also welcomes children with multiple learning difficulties and offers specialist multi-agency expertise. Therefore, experience or an understanding of issues faced by families living with additional needs is an advantage.

This role also encompasses a wider leadership responsibility across a geographical cluster of four children’s centres in all, allowing you to co-ordinate and strengthen services and share good practice.

You are warmly invited and encouraged to visit to the Centre. Please phone Bev Kellett, Head of Centre, on 020 8992 0724 to make an appointment.

If you would like to discuss the post further, candidates are welcome to contact Bev Kellett, Head of Centre, on 020 8992 0724.

The closing date for the submission of completed applications is 9.00am on Friday 29th January 2021.
