Job overview

North West London                        Competitive six-figure remuneration

Northwood School is a highly successful 11-18 school with nearly 1,000 students. We are part of QED Academy Trust, a growing Trust which operates three schools across Hillingdon in West London.

The school, judged Outstanding by Ofsted in October 2018, is popular and inclusive with a truly comprehensive intake.  Our philosophy places students at the centre of our work, creating a calm and caring environment where they can learn and thrive. Our exceptional outcomes are testament to the success of this approach.  This has not happened by accident. It has been achieved through the dedication of talented staff and students, alongside a strong and supportive Trust and Governing Body.

We are now looking for an inspirational Headteacher to lead us through the next phase of our development. We are not complacent. There is much to achieve in an ever-changing education landscape. Key areas of focus for the future include the continued development of the Sixth Form, improving outcomes for students with SEND and ensuring consistent progress across all abilities. You will benefit from working with an enthusiastic and well-qualified team, who are loyal and committed.

You will have a demonstrable track record of successful school leadership. You may be a Deputy Headteacher or Head of School ready for the next step, or an experienced Headteacher looking for a new challenge. Either way, your exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence are likely to set you apart.

You will be ambitious for our students, believe in the power and moral purpose of education and insist on the highest of standards. Your ability to establish relationships with the broadest range of individuals and organisations will be critical to your success.

If this challenge excites you, download full details on the role including the job and person specifications at www.pentir.com/roles/northwood. For a confidential conversation about the role or to arrange a visit to the school then contact Mike Phillips (mike.phillips@pentir.com) on 07830-313915 or Maureen Nicholas (maureen.nicholas@pentir.com) on 07540-222519 at our advisors Pentir.

The closing date for applications is Monday 27th February 2023 – 12.00 noon.

The QED Academy Trust and Northwood School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Scheme, confirmation of qualifications, experience checks and satisfactory references.
