Job overview

CARDINAL HEENAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
£COMPETITIVE, LEEDS

With achievement on an upward trajectory, there is a real sense of momentum and shared purpose here at Cardinal Heenan, and we will look to our new Headteacher to maintain pace and purpose and build on our considerable strengths. Located in North Leeds, we play an active role in our local community, and as an oversubscribed Catholic High School we attract a diverse student population from across the city.

With just over 900 pupils and a committed team of very talented staff, our school offers an excellent and personalised learning environment. We offer a wide curriculum that is designed to engage and motivate children from all backgrounds and abilities, while ensuring that academic achievement is central to all that we do. And we are confident being measured by our outcomes - achieving our best ever GCSE results in 2016/17. Looking forward, our emphasis will be on continuing our journey from good to outstanding, and doing more to build effective, reciprocal partnerships across the learning community in Leeds.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Catholic leader, who can clearly articulate a direction of travel, promote an inclusive and collaborative approach to improving outcomes, and establish clarity around expectations and responsibilities. You should have clear ideas on what makes a great learning environment, a commitment to developing and supporting colleagues to achieve their best, and a compelling aspiration to support young people in achieving their full academic and personal potential.

Closing date: Noon Tuesday 20th February.

Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to enhanced DBS and other checks.
