Granby is a village school in the heart of the city, providing a challenging leadership opportunity for the right person, in a friendly, supportive and child-focused context. The children, staff and governors are looking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and positive person to lead our vibrant school, following the retirement of our long-standing head teacher.

Granby has a fascinating history and is housed in a Victorian building which opened in 1889. Whilst it is clearly of its time, we offer contemporary facilities and equipment to provide the best in current educational provision. With around 500 children on roll, and a staff of nearly 75 people, we are a thriving school at the heart of our local community.

The successful candidate will:

• Provide outstanding leadership and management to this dynamic, complex organisation

• Nurture and cherish the children, promoting their safety, well-being and learning

• Have a passionate vision and ethos that supports our values and culture

• Have a strong commitment to inclusion with high expectations for all learners

• Develop the quality of teaching and learning throughout the school, from the Early Years through to year 6

• Have a proven track record of leading, developing and motivating staff

• Have a ‘can-do’ approach to the challenges of leadership in a large school

• Value the engagement of parents and the community, particularly within the school improvement agenda

• Have a flair for the interpretation, analysis and presentation of school improvement data

• Lead us in our journey from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’
