Hexham Priory School is designated for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties. The school currently has 99 pupils on roll aged from 2 to 19 years. In addition to a learning difficulty, many pupils have a secondary disability, which may be an Autistic Spectrum Condition, a sensory impairment or a physical disability.

In 2012 the school was rated as outstanding by OFSTED. Based in the beautiful historic market town of Hexham, our school serves a rural catchment covering over one thousand square miles of West Northumberland.

Due to the retirement of the current long serving post holder, the Governing Body are seeking to appoint a Headteacher with the commitment and drive to lead our school as we continue to expand our pupil numbers, extend the building, and consider academy status.
