Job overview

Orchard Meadow Primary School is part of United Learning, a successful national group of academies and independent schools. Our schools share a mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ and to improve the life chances of the children and young people in their care.

Our developing Oxford cluster comprises Orchard Meadow, Pegasus and Windale Schools, with Orchard Meadow and Pegasus being led by an Executive Principal. Our cluster model enables high quality, bespoke school improvement and wider opportunities for both staff and students to work collaboratively.

Orchard Meadow Primary School is a happy, lively school that is striving to offer the very best education, care and services to its children and families. We are a diverse community which brings a cultural richness which we take every opportunity to celebrate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leader looking to combine the challenge of running their own school with the benefit of working closely with an Executive Principal as well as within a developing cluster and as part of a national group. United Learning prioritises collaboration, values shared practice and provides high-quality professional development.

School is housed in a former middle school and benefits from considerable indoor and outdoor space, together with a large assembly hall and theatre stage. The three schools in the cluster play an important role in the local community.

As headteacher, you will demonstrate a clear commitment to the school and its community. You will model outstanding leadership and set high expectations for pupils and staff. Your professionalism, expertise and enthusiasm for education will be evident each and every day, in all that you do.

Orchard Meadow is situated on the Blackbird Leys estate, situated some three miles south of the city of Oxford.  The City with its two universities, theatres and museums is one of the finest European cities and provides endless opportunities for the staff and children.

If you are looking for an exciting, challenging and highly rewarding role within a Group that offers a strong commitment to professional development, and if you have an unshakeable commitment to improving the lives of young people, we encourage you to visit us.
