Job overview

Barnes Primary School is looking for a new Headteacher.

Our current Headteacher, will be leaving the school at the end of this academic year after 13 successful years. We are therefore looking for the right person to continue our inspiring journey: leading the school to ever greater success in the fast changing educational and financial landscape by further improving results, increasing income and expanding our reach in school-to-school support work.

Do you have the desire to lead this Outstanding primary school?

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, analytical and agile individual who will continue to inspire our staff and support and encourage our pupils to make excellent progress, whatever their starting point. We are looking for a person who can demonstrate vision, resilience and emotional intelligence and can evidence the capacity to both challenge and collaborate.

What are we looking for?

  • A leader who will maintain the highest of standards and continue to raise levels of achievement for all pupils.
  • A commitment to developing and maintaining a programme of continuous professional development for all staff.
  • A Headteacher with vision, resilience and emotional intelligence.
  • A strategist who has understanding and experience of operational excellence.
  • Someone with experience of recruiting, deploying and developing strong staff.
  • A motivational personality who inspires the pupils, the staff and the parent body.
  • A commitment to inclusive leadership and championing the needs of all children, respecting equality and diversity.

And us?

  • Love, learning and laughter is our motto; Expect More is our mantra.
  • A two form entry school with a three form expansion class year that has moved through the school since 2013 and which will be in Year 6 from September 2019.
  • Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated, with excellent year-on-year results.
  • A supportive and connected parent body and an active PTFA.
  • A strategically minded and committed Governing Body.
  • A community-minded school committed to giving the best start in life to as many children as we can impact.
