We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Headteacher to join our established Senior Leadership Team and to ensure we continue to deliver outstanding outcomes for our pupils. Sheiling School was awarded a Good rating by Ofsted in 2017. We are committed to delivering innovative child centred learning and would value a Head Teacher who is able to identify our strengths and areas for development. The ideal applicant will have a proven track record in teaching, leading change and will be able to ensure that data and quality assurance information supports the school's intention to be Outstanding in all areas.

Working closely with the CEO and a skilled education leadership team, the successful candidate will have in depth knowledge and understanding of inspection frameworks and be able to ensure that the school demonstrates best practice within all the areas of inspection with particular focus on the integration of therapies in the curriculum.

The successful candidate will need:

  • Diploma or Degree level qualification in Education/Teaching 
  • Minimum 7 Years of teaching experience
  • Previous experience of working in an SEN School
  • Experience in a senior role in an education setting 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge or previous experience of the educational principles developed by Rudolf Steiner

Terms:

  • An attractive salary scale
  • Monday-Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, 40 hours per week
  • 7 weeks paid holiday which include bank holidays

Sheiling School in Thornbury, South Glos is a residential Camphill (Rudolf Steiner) School for children with learning difficulties aged 6 to 19 and is part of Thornleigh Camphill Communities. 

Our beautiful grounds on the edge of the town encompass several residential houses for children and adults, a school building, indoor and outdoor craft workshops and a swimming pool.
