The Meadows Primary AcademyStoke-on-Trent

The Shaw Education Trust is delighted to invite applications for the post of Headteacher for The Meadows Primary Academy. The Meadows Primary Academy has the advantage of being set in beautiful grounds and has modern, light and spacious buildings along with extensive fields and play areas. Our facilities have expanded over the years in line with the growth in pupil numbers and the school was totally rebuilt fifteen years ago.

We have a dynamic team of exceptional teachers and support staff who act as exemplary role models, educating and nurturing each child, enabling them to achieve high standards of academic attainment, while also enabling them to become capable, caring and confident human beings.

We are a lively community fully focussed on learning and with high ambitions. This school is part of the Shaw Education Trust. As one of a family of schools supported by the Trust, the school benefits from our tried and tested ways of working, experience and expertise. We have an unswerving commitment to improving the life chances of all children and our leaders must reflect this determination to achieve excellence for all and by all.

Shaw Education Trust is a large family and consists of 25 Academies and 1 Independent Specialist College. Our schools cover all phases and all sectors, we are proud to be inclusive, having ambition for each and every one of our 11,000 learners. We are an innovative, aspirational and motivated Trust, determined to affect positive outcomes for our communities. We have a SCITT and an Institute of Education within our partnership and these provide outstanding career development pathways for teaching and support colleagues. Our apprenticeship model is dynamic, fast paced and stage appropriate. Exceptional, high quality professional learning lies at the heart of our approach: we regard it as a right, not a lottery. Our academies are great places to work, our teams buzz with creativity, and focus on excellence by all and for all.

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about primary learning, with high expectations for all our children so that they can reach their true potential in a safe, exciting and nurturing environment.

Candidates must be a role model and be able to demonstrate recent, successful and sustained impact as a senior leader in a primary setting. Your inspirational energies and people management skills will harness a collective pride and motivation which will trigger accelerated performance and awesome outcomes for the young people. Your positive and collaborative attitude will nurture, inspire and engage the young people, parents/carers, staff and the local community and see the school recognised as a beacon of excellence. You must be confident, approachable and have the skills to build high performing teams and a positive culture.
