Our school supports 2 forms of entry from reception through to Year 6 along with a well-established governor-led nursery.

This role includes all the usual Headteacher responsibilities of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school and ensuring the wellbeing of our whole school community. But this role is so much more than that, we are no ordinary school, and we have exciting plans ahead; one of your key tasks will be driving these forward to make a difference to more young people's lives and those of the wider school population including our parent/carer groups and the neighbouring community. We are looking for a highly effective leader who has a natural leaning towards collaborative working, alongside an empathetic style. We are looking for an individual who will excel in fulfilling the potential in staff and pupils alike and utilise an adaptive style to best meet the needs of the whole school community. We are proud of our school and are looking for someone who is an advocate of exemplary pupil behaviour and will uphold our excellent reputation, whilst nurturing meaningful and positive relationships with staff and parents. As our new Headteacher, you will demonstrate your commitment to the classroom environment and your connection to teaching and learning. You will also have a proven track record for raising expectations and achievement along with a passion for driving aspiration and vision within a school.

Duties will include:

  • leading on all strategic development of SEND
  • driving curriculum for the school and a focus on SEND provision
  • overseeing the improvement of Teaching and Learning
  • taking ownership of the school-designated budget
  • motivating and leading staff to enable a comfortable environment to challenge practice/ support for continuous growth
  • ensuring high-quality education for all students
  • developing new ideas for stakeholder engagement alongside the governing body
  • working closely with the DSL to maintain safety
  • encouraging robust and transparent communication across the whole school community including with key stakeholders and partners.

What we would like from you:

  • a detailed understanding of Ofsted and education requirements
  • a background in successful innovation or leading school initiatives/managing change
  • a track record of leadership within a school, developing strategic growth
  • the ability to model the highest expectations of conduct, safe practice and resilience
  • a good understanding of all the Key Stages
  • Degree and Qualified Teacher Status on a leadership scale
  • a calm exterior coupled with quick thinking and effective problem-solving.
