Job overview

Tes is seeking an experienced and inspirational Senior Leader to join a 'Good' popular three-form entry Primary in North East London as their Headteacher.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a inclusive, cohesive and successful community school where its children reflect the rich social and ethnic diversity of the area. In 2019 the school was in the top 6% of schools in the Mayor of London’s “Schools for Success” programme supporting low prior attainment pupils.

Over the past years the school has built a core educational engine that is working well with consistently excellent behaviour across the school. The school is therefore looking for an individual who can build on this with new ideas, and in particular further develop a network of external and community links; enhance its use of digital technologies in the curriculum and communication; and innovate in the inclusive provision of enrichment and extra-curricular activities.

The successful candidate will be keen to work with the local authority, governors, staff, students, PTA, the federation partners and the wider community to achieve these goals.

You Will:

  • Lead and manage an inclusive school, reflective of its community
  • Work with the Governing Body, Senior Management Team and Local Authority to develop the strategic vision and plan for the school to meet its future needs and continued development
  • Ensure the objectives outlined in the School Development Plan are realised through a regular cycle of development planning, implementation, review and evaluation
  • Keep up to date with developments in education and have a good knowledge of education systems and of new opportunities both at a local and wider level
  • Ensure the school has strong systems of communication with parents and other interested parties: including use of digital and other communications methods
  • Demonstrate and articulate high expectations and set stretching and challenging targets for children and staff
  • Inspire and support every member of staff to deliver quality first teaching for every child
  • Promote and facilitate teamwork amongst staff, children and parents, including the sharing of effective classroom practice

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a Degree and qualified teacher status
  • Hold relevant personal development to indicate preparation for this role
  • Ideally have a National Professional Qualification for Headteachers or other relevant qualification
  • Ideally have a Degree in leadership or management
  • Have Senior Leadership experience as an existing headteacher or deputy head teacher
  • Be successful at team building and have a commitment to staff development
  • Have the ability to build open relationships and work collaboratively with governing bodies

If you are excited about achieving excellence for all and believe that this is best achieved in a rich and diverse education setting with motivated teachers that values all aspects of the curriculum, then this may be the opportunity you are looking for!

Visits are strongly encouraged prior to application. If you would like to find out more information please email katie.rossiter@tes.com   REF KR 1311796
