Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction aligned with school learning outcomes and internationally recognized best practices.
Create engaging learning experiences that promote inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and scientific literacy.
Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse academic, linguistic, social, and emotional needs of students.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students are respected and challenged to achieve their potential.
Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and provide meaningful feedback.
Analyze student achievement data to improve teaching practices and support continuous student growth.
Integrate technology effectively to enhance teaching, learning, research, and communication.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment, vertical articulation, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and school leadership regarding student progress and learning goals.
Support the school’s commitment to continuous improvement, accreditation expectations, and professional learning.
Contribute positively to the wider school community through advisory programs, extracurricular activities, and school events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification or license.
Minimum of two years of successful secondary science teaching experience.
Experience teaching AP Environmental Science or preparing students for Advanced Placement examinations is highly desirable.
Strong content knowledge in biology, environmental science, and general science.
Demonstrated ability to use assessment data to improve student learning outcomes.
Experience working with diverse learners, including English language learners and students with varying learning needs.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
