Job overview
We wish to appoint an HLTA to join the English department in our school in 2018.
The successful candidate will be confident and able to work across all year groups within KS3 and KS4 phases. You will engage in continued professional development throughout the academic year as it will be possible that on occasion you will be expected to lead the class. As the newly appointed HLTA / Higher Level Teaching assistant you will spend the majority of your time assisting small groups and individuals with their learning and at times work with SEN pupils as and when necessary. Your main role will be to assist in raising attainment.
You will also be responsible for supervising classes across the curriculum, covering for teacher absences. You will need to assist the students with the work that has been set and maintain a positive and constructive classroom atmosphere at all times.

Prendergast Vale School opened in 2011 as an all-through school for 3 to 16 year olds in the heart of Lewisham. It is part of the Leathersellers' Federation of Schools which educates 2600 children in South East London.
