About the role

As an HLTA you will play a vital role in our team by providing regular cover supervision to release teachers across our Academy and contributing to the ethos and culture of our school.

The nature of the job also means lessons in a range of subjects will need to be covered, providing lots of variety in your role.

30 hours per week – Term Time (39 weeks per year) – Permanent contract

Who we are looking for

  • GCSE English and Maths at A*- C or level 2 equivalent.
  • Commitment to and or experience of working with children and young people.
  •  Ability to motivate and encourage children to meet their targets for learning and/or behaviour
  • Ability to show awareness to when it is appropriate to consult teachers about a child’s behaviour or learning
  • Understanding of the practical application of Equal Opportunities in a school context
  • Aware of Health and Safety and safeguarding issues 

It is important for a HLTA to have the skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated and focused so they can work on the activities set and prepared for them.

The role requires you to support pupils as they work through the lesson and to understand how to help them to complete tasks, where needed.
