Are you a team player with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys working with young people?
Joining us, you will be part of our busy and supportive SEN team working with students who experience difficulties in accessing the Science curriculum. The objective of this post is to boost the scientific skills, alongside numeracy and literacy skills, of targeted students so they can access the Science curriculum. The needs of the targeted students will vary; some will have special educational needs such as Dyslexia or ASD.
You would generally work with small groups of students, within the main classroom, to ensure students’ progress and to boost their confidence. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering group work or team teaching with the main class teacher.
As with all HLTAs, you will be expected to progress students’ learning and with other professionals, support pupils’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing. It is necessary for you to have qualifications in Maths/Numeracy or English/Literacy equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2. An HLTA qualification or evidence of working at this level would be advantageous.
Closing date: 3rd February 2019, however applications will be reviewed as received, so you may hear from us before this time.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all members of the community. Homewood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
