Job overview

Tockington Manor School is a thriving, family orientated, independent preparatory school situated in an idyllic location just north of Bristol. The Headmaster and Governors of Tockington Manor School seek a talented and inspirational teacher to teach History to Common Entrance level, General Subjects and a variety of sports. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach History to Common Entrance level and General Subjects (including Maths) to Key Stage 2/3 children. You will also be expected to teach teams in one or more of the following: Football, Rugby and Cricket; experience and/or qualifications in any of these sports is highly desirable. You will be expected to participate in Saturday morning extra-curricular and sporting activities.

In a recent inspection, Tockington Manor School was found to produce pupils who “demonstrate self-confidence and self-awareness of the highest quality” by the Independent School Inspectorate (ISI). They concluded that the quality of the pupils’ personal development was ‘Excellent’, with attainment being above average in relation to national age-related expectations.

Over the last 5 years, the school has seen its roll rise by over 40%. As well as a brand new Music & Performing Arts Suite, refurbished Nursery and Lower School departments, the school boasts a new computer suite, a large astro turf with five tennis courts, a 25 metre indoor pool and 28 acres of beautiful sports grounds. This is, therefore, the ideal role for an ambitious teacher looking to further their career. Tockington Manor is a small yet very busy school and a desire to become involved fully in school life is essential.

Please send your completed application form to recruitment@tockingtonmanorschool.com. Please be aware that, unfortunately, we are unable to offer tours of the school or introductory meetings ahead of interview.

Closing date for applications is Tuesday 19th March. Interviews will be on Friday 22nd and Monday 25th March with a September start date.
