History Teacher - Normanhurst School
We are looking to appoint an excellent teacher who is able to motivate and inspire, to teach History and RS in Key Stages 3 and 4. This is a subject that has enjoyed a high level of success over recent years and so the successful candidate will be able to encourage high standards within a small department.
This is a full time position to start in January 2020, or sooner if the right candidate is available. Our aim is to recruit a teacher who:
- is looking for a new opportunity to develop History and RS throughout the Seniors
- is able to contribute to an expanding curriculum and learning environment
- is looking to embrace having full responsibility for implementing the subject
- can be flexible and adaptable to working with pupils with varying needs and abilities
Applications are welcome from both independent and maintained sectors, and from NQTs or more experienced teachers. The timetable allows for 4 days per week during academic year 2019/2020 (Tuesdays to Fridays), but there could be the scope for full time from the following academic year depending on the successful candidate.

Founded in 1923, Normanhurst School is a co-educational independent school located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The school accepts children aged 2 1/2 to 16, and has around 280 pupils in total, making it smaller than the average school of its type. The school is operated by the Oak-Tree Group of Schools, a grouping of a small number of local independent schools. Normanhurst’s site is comprised of older Edwardian buildings, housing a range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, as well as a number of more modern purpose-built teaching areas.
