Term time only plus one week (39 weeks)

An exciting opportunity for a role across all the schools in the Slough and East Berkshire Multi Academy Trust (SEBMAT).  We are looking for a Home School Link Worker (HSLWs) to work preventatively with families, children and the schools to provide early intervention, signposting, support and guidance, particularly in times of change and stress.    The key objective of a HSLW is to overcome barriers to learning and attendance at school caused by home related issues.

The post will be based and managed within the Community Liaison Team at Slough and Eton.

The role is a key element in the preventative strategy - supporting parents/carers and a child before there is a need for a more intensive intervention from the statutory agencies.

The HSLW will not be the main source of support for cases where there is a need for a response from the statutory agencies.   The HSLW will work with and support teachers and professionals in Children’s Service (social care and education), Health and other organisations to support the family /child.  HSLWs must ensure that they refer cases to the appropriate staff within the school and to statutory agencies.

SEBMAT are committed to safeguarding the welfare of our students and staff and will conduct all necessary DBS checks as part of our recruitment process.

For more information and application form please contact our HR Advisor, Beverly Glanville [beverly.glanville@slougheton.com] or visit any of our schools websites [ www.slougheton.com, www.etonporny.org.uk www.colnbrookprimary.com ] in the vacancy section for further details and application pack.

About Slough and Eton CE Business and Enterprise College

Slough and Eton is a great school and I am immensely proud to have joined it as Headteacher in September 2017.  Pupils and students at Slough and Eton are expected to work extremely hard and are encouraged to achieve their very best in all that they do.  As a result of their tremendous work ethic they achieve extremely well and we are very proud of them.  We believe in educating the whole child and as such place great importance on the many cultural experiences we provide for pupils and students as well as the academic ones.

As a Church of England school we welcome pupils from all faiths, foster a culture of tolerance and understanding throughout the school and are always delighted to show visitors the fantastic things that happen here.  We have a thriving and growing Sixth Form and enjoy using excellent facilities.  If you are interested in finding out more about our school then please do come and visit us.  I would be delighted to show you around, along with some pupils and give you the opportunity to talk informally with some staff about what it is like to work at the school.

Mr Peter Collins

Headteacher
