We are looking for an inspirational and experienced teacher to lead our Hospital Education and Reintegration Service team from 1 January 2019. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management, development and evaluation of the service. 

Broadlands Academy, as part of the Academies Enterprise Trust, has the contract to deliver the Hospital Education and Reintegration Service (HERS) for Bath & North East Somerset Council until August 2021, with the possibility of this being extended following a review of the service.

The Hospital Education Service for Bath and North East Somerset supports students who are too ill or unable to attend school for short periods. The service provides lessons via a variety of methods including:

  • A small class setting at Broadlands Academy
  • A classroom at Royal United Hospital in Bath
  • Outreach at student homes

Our Key Stage 4 results in 2022 show significant improvement from the last set of externally marked examinations in 2019, both in terms of attainment and progress.
