Housekeeper

Colston’s is a thriving co-educational day school on the outskirts of Bristol. Easily accessible from the motorway network and with approximately 750 students aged from 3 to 18. The Upper School occupies a glorious thirty acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site.

We are looking for enthusiastic Housekeepers to join our team. This is a good opportunity for passionate, well organised and hardworking individuals to take on responsibility for the daily cleaning of an area allocated within the school. The successful candidates will be able to work individually and as part of a team. 

This role is responsible for achieving high standards and ensuring the service is operated safely and hygienically. You will ensure your assigned areas are kept clean, presentable and safe by following the required policies and procedures. Other duties include restocking consumables, vacuuming, dusting, emptying bins, polishing and using a polisher.

The hours available are as detailed below:

- 15 hours each week, from 6 am until 9 am, from Monday to Friday during all of school term time plus cleaning days during school holidays allocated throughout the school year. 

- 10 hours each week, from 6 am until 8 am, from Monday to Friday during all of school term time plus cleaning days during school holidays allocated throughout the school year. 

For both the above positions this is a total of 207 contracted working days each school year, based upon a typical 35 weeks of term time, (equivalent to 175 days, which includes term time and INSET days), plus 6.4 weeks holiday cleaning.

The hourly rate is £7.92 plus paid holiday entitlement. This will be paid as a monthly salary for your contracted hours across the school year. Other benefits include uniform, free parking on site, and a defined contribution pension scheme.
