Applications are invited for the post of Housemistress at The Royal Masonic School for Girls.
RMS is a leading independent girls’ day/boarding School with 1000+ pupils aged 2 to 18 and over 350 teaching and support staff, situated on a 200-acre parkland site near Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire. This is a unique school where we combine dynamic teaching and learning with traditional expectations that are rooted in a long and proud history. We are seeking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Housemistress with a suitable teaching qualification. Reporting to the Director of Boarding the post holder will join our lively and forward thinking boarding team to oversee the welfare of around 40, full, weekly and flexi boarders from Years 5 to 9 in Harris House. The Housemistress will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the boarding house, and the pastoral care and support of the boarders, creating a happy, respectful, safe and caring atmosphere in the House. RMS boarders enjoy a lively and varied programme of activities and benefit from outstanding pastoral care.
The Housemistress will also have a reduced teaching allocation in order to ensure the strengths of boarding at RMS are developed, and to promote and facilitate a diverse range of inclusive, engaging, co-curricular student opportunities. The Royal Masonic School for Girls is an independent school located on a 316-acre site in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. Providing places to both boarding and day pupils, the school is an all-through institution educating pupils aged 2-18.
Founded in 1789, the school was originally intended for use by the children of Freemasons. It is now non-denominational and has no restrictions on attendance.
